Humphery Bogart Litter

After much research & consultation, we decided to breed one of girls from our "Great Russians" litter (q.v.) to DC Mufasa Midnite O
Silkenswift LCM (and lots more titles!) bred by Vanessa Johnson and owned by Bonnie Dalzell. The dam was Entwood Catherina Velikaya, owned by Tracy Hilbert and co-leased to Leslie for the litter. Leslie & Tracy, both being fans of "theme litter" naming, set the criteria for all 11 puppies, three of which are featured here. This is not to say that no other Borzois from this litter coursed, it's just that these were the standouts from a great breeding. Thank you Tracy, Vanessa & Bonnie.

DC Entwood Isle Of Fury LCX MC F.Ch. has been our top courser. Even with all her trials since 2001 she still follows the lure and runs clean and is quite durable as her recovery from three injuries (2 from other hounds) and motherhood has shown. In her first year of coursing, missing all the trials after the AKC National Lure Coursing Trial, she still finished 9th in the AKC Borzoi rankings. In 2002, she finished 2nd in the AKC Borzoi rankings and ranked 6th in the AKC all-sighthound list. In 2003, she was still 6th in the AKC Borzoi rankings, even though she took the fall season off for "Maternity Leave". In 2004, she "went showing" to finish her Conformation Title to become a DC and was able to course enough to finish her LCX, becoming the first Borzoi DC with an LCX.
